What is an appraisal?

An appraisal is an educated estimate of value which takes into account many variables.

John’s 30 years experience in the field, combined with his extensive resource library and access to past and present auction records, have well equipped him to appraise your art and antiques.

On-line appraisals are ideal when you only need a few things evaluated and don’t require a more in-depth, in-person appraisal. (If you’re interested in an estate appraisal please go to www.johnsewellantiques.ca/estate.html.)

Whether you’re simply curious, contemplating selling, or dividing treasures among family members, an on-line appraisal is fast and affordable. It takes the guesswork out of the equation and allows you to make informed decisions.

Please be aware that on-line appraisals CAN NOT be used for insurance or tax purposes. Those applications require items to be examined in person.

Since on-line appraisals are solely based on the information provided, if damage is undetected or not mentioned, or the description is incomplete, the appraisal will not be accurate. (All values are given in Canadian dollars.)
